Visitors to your meetings
One thing that attracted me to CMA was the
friendliness and un-assuming nature of the people of CMA. They were just
accepting and that made me feel comfortable.
Your chapter's reaction to new people visiting your chapter will
determine whether or not they will be back. We all know how it is to
join in with new group of strangers and we have probably had experience
with clicks and how uncomfortable it is. Here are some suggestions which
make a first-timers visit pleasant.
-
Before the meeting starts, someone, probably the chapter VP,
should go out of his way to meet the new people and in turn
introduce them to a few or their seatmates.
-
The VP should also have a postcard sized forum (and pen) for the
visitors to fill in and returned so you have a record or their
attendance.
-
Some sort of card or welcome package, explaining more about the
CMA and chapter, and how to become a member, should also be given to
them.
-
In the early phase of the meeting, the VP should acknowledge the
and introduce the visitors and make them feel welcome and
comfortable. Be sure not to put them on the spot.
-
At the meeting break or end, or on a ride, chapter members
should purpose that there are no visitors left standing alone with
nobody to talk to.
-
Give serious thought about a week after the meeting, writing
them a hand written note; thanking them for the visit and inviting
them to attend again or consider membership. In this day and age,
who does that anymore? This has proved to be
very effective in transferring visitor into members. If you
can't write them, at least phone them.
-
Make sure that newcomers are in the loop on any mailing list or
email list you might have. Consider sending a special invitation to
them for upcoming events.

- Print Shop Software |
|
Print Shop is a relatively inexpensive desktop
publishing program software which is helpful for creating cards,
bookmarks and the like. It is very easy to use and I use it for a lot of custom birthday cards and the like.
There are several files which require this program below. All of
these are printed on card stock |
